James works as an editor — editing, revising, and rewriting fiction, non-fiction, poetry, essays, as well as post graduate papers and theses.
He specializes in working with graduate students whose second language is English. In one case, he thoroughly rewrote the doctoral thesis and defence of a PhD candidate whose fourth language was English. This doctorate, and others he has edited, have all been awarded.
Before committing to edit an essay or thesis, James edits a page or two of the document, and returns the revisions to the student. If the revisions are well received by the student, James and the student or graduate student work toward a mutual agreement that covers the editing fee, the editing level, deadline and remuneration.
The editing level ranges from basic grammar and sentence structure to revisions of complex argument and conceptualization.
Previous, current, and future editing, of course, remain strictly confidential.
